sneak in, freak out

Can you imagine having to go out in the middle of the night just so you could watch reruns of the Saturday Night Live? What about going to the GMA Network Center to hear and watch the news firsthand?

Difficult, right? That's what I thought too. Thanks to the Toolshed Information Revolution, our generation never got to experience this burden.

It's been weird imagining how we'd be like if information won't be delivered at home. It won't be accessible and all.

For me, if it's not accessible and it's not easy to get, I won't bother getting it..let alone trying to.

I remembered this one time that I tried to surf the internet and wasn't able to because I ran out of load in my internet card[excuse me for being that poor]. I got so irritated because it was already during the ungodly hour of the night. The streets in Manila aren't exactly that safe so I just sulked in bed and waited until morning. It was such a relief to finally be able to buy a new internet card.

Now why did I have to surf the internet in the first place? Because you-tubing is basically my life and without it, I won't be ME. See how complicated life would be if our own homes deprive us of a connection to the outside world[not referring to extraterrestrial life]!!!

Our freedom will be totally limited..thus, we won't be called free anymore.

The Toolshed revolution's probably my most favorite. It favors everything that I want and need. Though I'm sure I haven't seen EVERYTHING yet, the Toolshed revolution definitely made me a complete person. If it wasn't for this revolution, I wouldn't know things that I'm well-aware of at this time. I've come to recognize the beauty that surrounds us as well as the major defficiencies we face because of this revolution.

The Toolshed Revolution will forever be stuck in my mind...

Can you imagine not being able to see this when everyone was dressed in accordance at the Congress?

Now, thanks to my activist friend who brought me with her, I was not only able to witness it firsthand, but also to share it with my friends and housemates when I arrived home.
And now, I am contributing to the Toolshed revolution to impart to you what was part of what I saw on yet another day of promises and rage.

Communication 101

The lessons we have discussed in class are really fun-filled because the way you presented it made us get something from it and made us enjoy it at the same time. It wasn't as tedious as I've expected the first few days of college to be.

The lesson that I wouldn't think of forgetting ever in my life would be that of the consequences experienced by the people who have either received or sent wrong information or interpretation of one topic through communication.

The trouble made for standing up in what one has said takes mountful of courage and dignity. One must rectify whatever wrong it has produced to prevent misleading of ideologies.

I've also understood the relevance of every tools used in communication as well as their corresponding Pro's and Con's.

Reliance to media can somewhat cause good and bad effects to us...the people. Gaining knowledge and new useful information cannot always be a good thing. There have been certain instances wherein we forget to distinguish factual from illusiory or fraud. We cannot just be there to listen or watch what the media provides us but we alsohave to be careful in taking in what's reinventive and what's liable.

The certain impact it gives to the people can be distinct from one another in more ways than one. As responsible "media worshippers" we must always know that the only thing constant in this world is "change". Therefore, being rational or critical is needed to be possessed before one can come up with the intention of believing every single word sent by the media.

Some of the topics we've tackled really gave me certain ideas in what I envision my future in the media world to be like. I cannot think of any reason to say I'd be better or do better but I can think of certain reasons to say I'd make a difference. Maybe I'm not the best, maybe I'm not going to be too known, but I think I can give a little more life in terms of serving the people with what I opt to know in the four years that I would be taking this subject.

I can only think of one last statement to share with you so as not to impress but to express...

as a Communication Arts student I'd sweat the battle before the battle sweats me.
